Missing out on the NZ Open at the Hills in Queenstown meant that I had the extreme pleasure of playing 3 course I haven't played before, all in Queenstown. Thanks to Jim Lapsley who I'm staying with who took me on this tour of golf, including a ride on his Jet Boat!

The first tournament of the year has started off in a positive way making the cut and finishing T38 with rounds of 70, 77, 74, 71 (+4). It was a week of surviving as it was a very tough day on the 2nd day.

Yesterday I prequalified for the NZ Open as I'm currently 3rd reserve. I shot 70 and was in T4 position, and with only 4 spots available from 100 players I went into a playoff. One guy made birdie down a fairly short par 4. I hit my approach from 75m to 40feet which was disappointing. However I gave it a run and it slid by.
